Getting Your Drill Site Ready
We cannot properly construct certain boreholes unless these site prepartions are properly followed.

Please take note when preparing your drill site:
■ Virgin ground works best for drilling
■ If fill is needed to level out the job site, it needs to be a
good, stable, non-porous material (no boulders, sticks,
stumps, boney gravel, etc.)
■ We cannot properly construct certain boreholes if fill has
been spead over a layer of snow
■ It is illegal to drill within 75’ of a boundary line, septic
system, or stump dump

A “Mud Pit” is necessary on all job sites to
insure proper drilling and to promote a clean job.
The pit should be dug 3’x3’x3’ with steep walls
(about the size of the average excavator bucket).
The mud pit is used to mix a mud slurry of Betonine
(a natural clay material used to stabilze the
borehole) and to contain drillings.
